Nidiya Kusmaya is a visual artist based in Indonesia, whose interdisciplinary practice bridges craft, art, and material science. With a foundation in textile craft and design, she delves into the exploration of alternative pigment sources, utilising a diverse array of waste materials—including food scraps, agricultural by-products, building material remnants, mining residues, and microorganisms. By transforming these discarded elements into sustainable colorants, Nidiya seeks to extend the lifecycle of materials and reimagine our perception of waste.
